It’s official now: Spanish has overtaken English as the third most widely spoken language in the world. In addition to that, Spanish is fast becoming one of the most widely spoken languages of the United States. This has led to a widespread demand for English to Spanish translations and translation providers. The Census Bureau of USA has stipulated that there are more than 40 million people in the USA who belong to Hispanic origins. The community includes populations from the following areas:

Mexico

Cuba

Central America

South America

Puerto Rico

The Bureau has also specified that about 48 million people in the USA who speak a second language at home, other than English. Out of this 48 million, around 29 million speak Spanish, which has recorded a 62% increase from the last decade. Nearly half of this population that speaks Spanish at home is fluent in speaking English, whereas Spanish speaking populations all over the world are not fluent in speaking English. It is expected that the trend is about to grow in the near future which means greater demand for the English to Spanish translators. Moreover, this is indicative of the fact that native speakers of both English and Spanish languages need to master the languages.

Learning the Languages helps English to Spanish Translators

The first reason for people to catch up with English or Spanish (the language in which they are not savvy) is that they may come across people who do not speak either language while they are at work or in their community, especially in Florida, California or Texas. These are places with a large number of Spanish speaking residents and if you happen to be a businessman, you might lose out on clients if you are not competent in either of these languages. This is why you need to brush up o your English to Spanish translation skills as a chunk of the consumer market is Spanish speaking. So, that means, even if you are not conversant with Spanish, the consumers may look out for other businesses that are easier to approach with their spoken language.

Spanish as a Second Language

It may be intimidating to think of having to learn a second language all over again, although the task is hardly as daunting as it appears. This is because you can actually learn English to Spanish translation in different learning styles and approaches.

One of the options is to go for the usual language classes, or purchasing language CDs that offer English to Spanish translations.

You may even make use of the newer techniques that enable you to learn either Spanish or English.

English to Spanish Software

Then there is the online language software to consider. The English to Spanish software offers lessons in ether language using speech as well as pictures and graphics. For example, one picture might show 2 people interacting with each other, and the works being spoken out in both English and Spanish. The advantage of using the English to Spanish software is that it lets you proceed in your own pace, without having to hurry. The language software also helps to configure it based on the users’ needs.

Do you think a Spanish to English translation, or rather, ‘Espanol’ to ‘Ingles’ is tough? Well, even though it seems so, it is not. For thousands of Latin American countries and Europeans, a quality Spanish to English translation service may draw the thin line between success and failure. This is because with the advent of the web as a mass medium- for entertainment, information as well as commercial purposes, English has become the reigning language of the worldwide potential consumer groups. And herein lies the importance of a Spanish to English translation – if you are not precise and yet alluring enough – you are out of the game. Period.

As far as Spanish to English translation is concerned, there are three chief ways to do the same.

Manual/Individualistic Translation – Hiring the physical help of expert professional translators. This is tricky as many agencies and firms opt for Americans, Europeans and other people who are well-versed in the Spanish language to do their translation exercises. This may seem to be a monetarily beneficial venture but may tax you dry in the long run. This is because most of the experts who have “acquired” the skill of the world’s second most spoken language are unaware of the smaller innuendos and terms in the language that only a local can be abreast with. So a sales copy can be all the more precise, direct and true to the original, initiating a far better lead generation statistic. Therefore, if you ever have to choose between the two, choose a ‘Spanish-origin’ translation expert rather than a foreign one

Who can use it? Legal firms, business dealers, and technical documentation firms etc. can lose virtue and money in case the translation is inaccurate.

Auto-translation Tools – Auto-translation tools have become commonplace – both on the web as well as software application packages in the translation arena. Applications like the Google Translator or other automated translation service products can be included here as examples.

Who can use it? However, these services can only be used for basic or informal purposes, such as by students, tourists, or firms that may wish to have bulk documents to be reproduced in Spanish, irrespective of the trivial errors in translation.

Spanish to English Translation Agencies – These provide an amalgamation of both the afore-mentioned translation avenues, thereby providing a much higher consumer satisfaction rate. Initially the whole document is translated via the auto-translation tools, and thereafter proofread by individual translation experts – eliminating any factual or logical errors in the translated piece.

Who can use it? Any firm or individual that wishes to have the exact theme and conveyed message, irrespective of being translated, to be divulged through the documents. This may range from a classroom presentation to medical and traffic safety documents!

While Spanish to English translation has caught on with the commoners as well as corporate firms, it is important to understand that an amateurish or generic approach can ruin a translated copy. So pick and choose the agency you wish to work on your copy, and reach out to a worldwide audience like never before. Si?!

If you have a document that you need translated into Spanish you are probably looking for the perfect site that offers Spanish translation. By using Google you can find a translation service with relative ease. There are many sites that offer Spanish translation; either automated or manual translation services are available.

Automated Spanish Translation

If you’re only looking to translate a few words then using an automated Spanish translation service will suffice. The problem arises when you are trying to translate a whole document. Since this service is automated and not looked at by humans the chance for grammar errors increases.

The advantage of these automated translation services is that they tend to be free. Most of them also offer many different languages. This can be useful if you want to translate the same document into more than just one language.

Manual Spanish Translation

This is the best way to get a whole document translated into Spanish. With humans performing the translation you have a better chance the sentence structure and grammar is correct. As with any document you want the flow to be there. Your best bet would be to have a native Spanish speaker do the translation for you. This will help ensure that your target audience will read it the way they naturally speak.

As with any service you purchase you want to make sure that the one you choose has the experience in the field. This works with Spanish translation and is very important. You want your translator to have experience in both reading and writing the Spanish language. If you need your document in a short period of time then making sure that they offer quick service will ensure that you get your translated document in time to meet your deadline. Since human services such as translation can be very expensive it might be better to pay per word instead of an hourly charge. This will help you save money with your translation services.
